What is TXT BIGBANG?

A BIGBANG is a type of fandom challenge that typically involves the creation of longfic and accompanying artwork! Writers sign-up to write fanfiction with a pre-determined minimum word count, and artists sign-up to create art for these stories. For a more detailed explanation of what a BIGBANG is, feel free to peruse the Fanlore article on it.

The TXT BIGBANG is specifically an event that allows writers and artists who are enthusiasts of BigHit Entertainment's boy group, TOMORROW X TOGETHER, to come together to create content that centers around the group, or specific members of the group.

for any suggestions, inquiries, and other feedback, it's best to contact the modding team through curious cat or twitter mentions/direct messages! all updates will be announced on twitter first as well.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How long does the piece of fiction need to be?
It has to be at least 10,000 words.

Does the fic have to be completed?
Yes, the story needs to be able to stand alone by the time of posting, and NOT a work-in-progess. If you want to expand it after the event, you’re free to do so.

Are we allowed to include idols from other groups? What about original characters?
The focus of the story should be a member of the group, or a ship involving members of the group. Otherwise, feel free to include any original character or other idol in the story.

What happens if I don't meet the required word count for the check-in?
For the first check-in, if you really need an extension, make sure to contact the mods ahead of time. Otherwise, we cannot guarantee that you will be given one. For the second and final check-in, we will have to be more adamant that you meet the deadline.

What kind of artwork is acceptable for the event?
> Illustrations
> GIF Sets
> Soundtrack
> Digital Edits/Artwork
> Video/Trailer

What if I want to drop out? How do I do that?
Well, we'd prefer if you didn't! But we understand that sometimes life can get in the way, so if you really must, just send us an e-mail before the dropout deadline.

Is there any other way I can participate if I can't write longfic or create art?
Firstly, you can beta-read for our authors! And of course, once the event is done, you're free to read and leave feedback for our authors and artists. For sure, they will be appreciated. (:

WRITER GUIDELINES

  • Fics can be canon compliant or AU, and can be multi-chaptered or presented as a one-shot, as long as the complete, final product nets at least 10,000 words.

  • Fic ratings may range from G to M. To make matching with artists less difficult, we will not be allowing E-rated fic.

  • The mods will check-in with writers three times during the course of the event. The first one will require 3,500 words, while the second (and final) one will require 7,000 words.

  • Please note that initial posting will be anonymous! As such, we will appreciate if authors try to refrain from talking about their fic in public spaces.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE:

fill out the writer sign-up form, and have fun writing!

ARTIST GUIDELINES

  • Different types of art are welcome to be contributed. Types of art allowed are: (1) Illustrations, (2) GIF Sets, (3) Soundtracks, (4) Digital Edits, & (5) Video Trailers.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE:

more information to come as artist sign-ups approach!

BETA GUIDELINES

  • WHAT IS A BETA READER? In the context of fanfiction, a beta reader is someone who looks/reads over a writer's work before it's posted anywhere publicly. They typically help spot typographical errors and grammatical mistakes, but in lots of instances, they also help by picking out plot holes, and giving suggestions on how to help make the story tighter and flow more naturally.

HOW TO PARTICIPATE AS A BETA:

just fill out our beta sign-up form!
the mods will contact you if/when an author requests for your services (:

HOW TO REQUEST A BETA:

1. Choose an available beta reader you wish to work with based on the information provided here.
2. Fill out the BETA REQUEST FORM with all the necessary information.
3. Mods will e-mail both the writer and their chosen beta with both parties' preferred communication tools to make the connection.
